The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. They have impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other options which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through a clean.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards.  robot vacuum cleaner cheap  can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is simple to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and effectively. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the strength of suction and select between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

The device comes with a high price tag but has a variety of smart features. It is important to remember that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. This includes a power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which has a microfiber pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan map that it uses to determine a route when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture an enormous amount of hair that shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was starting or finished its work.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock which doubles as a charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a clean sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for an industry dominated by boxy units.
